20 South Mason St

This project was our first full design, build project. We tore down the old building, designed the new building, and built the new building from the ground up.

This project incorporates residential, light industrial, and office space which added quite a few complications. We were able to work with the building code in order to create an attractive building that will be a staple in downtown Harrisonburg for years to come.

This Building has 3 stick-built stories with a poured concrete basement and first floor slab. The exterior is wrapped in rigid foam insulation to create a thermal envelope with corrugated metal siding and brick for longevity. The stair wells feature metal stringers and railings that were built in house to allow us to accomplish a modern industrial feel.

The 3rd floor features 3 one bedroom apartments, the 1st and 2nd floor house the Glo fiber Harrisonburg office, and the basement is home to a nano brewery named The Friendly Fermenter.

This project was a challenge, but we are happy with what we were able to accomplish and are glad we were able to contribute to downtown Harrisonburg.
